Jim White has been an urban pioneer and resident in Downtown Los Angeles since 2000. As an active participant on the forefront of downtown’s multibillion-dollar redevelopment scene, Jim cofounded DTLA LIFE — a leading lifestyle and real estate company — to serve downtown buyers, sellers, and property developers in all facets of leasing-management, sales, and acquisitions. Jim has successfully combined his real estate interests with executive-level careers in such high-profile business and entertainment companies as Blockbuster Video, Universal Music Group, Vivendi, and Paramount Pictures.
Originally from a small town in Iowa, Jim earned graduate and postgraduate degrees in the U.S. and Australia before embarking on a professional life in more than 22 countries worldwide. His forward-thinking mindset as a global citizen empowers his sense of “community” that he focuses on Downtown LA with his civic and philanthropic support in eradicating poverty and family homelessness. Jim offered integral help in passing California’s Proposition HHH and Measure M that cumulatively will raise over $1.5 billion towards homeless issues. As the first in a trilogy of books, Jim authored THE WORLD IS A SAFE PLACE, in which he personalizes his unique worldview to gently draw people into deeper modes of self-exploration and discovery.
